Recent National Weather Service and model consensus forecasts indicate the lowest temperature in New York City on September 17 will likely fall in the upper 60s to low 70s due to persistent southerly flow, elevated dew points near 60–65°F, and increasing cloud cover ahead of a weak cold front. These conditions limit nocturnal radiational cooling and keep minimums above seasonal norms for mid-September. Subtle differences among leading market outcomes hinge on exact timing of cloud arrival, wind speeds, and boundary-layer moisture, with drier or clearer scenarios favoring the 68–69°F bin and more humid or overcast ones supporting 70–71°F. Updated NWS guidance and evening model runs will refine these probabilities before resolution.
