**Current forecasts from multiple models point to an overnight low of 58°F in San Francisco on September 21, aligning with the market’s leading 58-59°F bin at 50% implied probability.** Persistent onshore westerly flow and a moderate marine layer—typically 1,000–1,700 feet deep—are keeping the city under stratus overnight, limiting radiational cooling while the cold California Current continues to moderate coastal air masses. A weak upper-level trough passing through the region Sunday–Monday is reinforcing below-normal temperatures after recent warmer days, with breezy conditions (WSW 7–10 mph) preventing significant warming before dawn. Historical September lows average near 56°F, but the current setup favors values clustered in the upper 50s. Traders appear to be weighting the consensus guidance from NWS and private models, which show limited spread and no strong signals for either sub-56°F or 60°F+ readings before the market resolves.
