**Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance points to a Monday high in Austin near the upper 90s, with most runs showing 96–100 °F under partly to mostly sunny skies and light southerly flow.** Persistent late-summer warmth, modest afternoon mixing, and minimal cloud cover are the main drivers keeping probabilities concentrated on 96–99 °F. The narrow spread between the two leading bins reflects model-to-model differences in exact timing of any clearing and boundary-layer moisture, which can shift peak readings by a degree or two. With no strong frontal passage or widespread convection expected, the primary uncertainty remains how much daytime heating is realized versus suppressed by scattered afternoon clouds or very light showers. Updated NWS and high-resolution model runs through tonight will refine the final range.
