Recent USGS data confirm three earthquakes of magnitude 6.5 or greater occurred worldwide during August 10–16, 2026, including a 7.4 event near San José del Palmar, Colombia, on August 10 at ~110 km depth and a 7.7 event offshore East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, on August 14. Trader consensus at 92.4% for exactly three reflects verified official catalogs showing typical global rates of roughly one M6.5+ quake every few days, with no additional qualifying events detected in real-time monitoring. Revised magnitudes below threshold or late aftershock detections above 6.5 could still shift the final tally before resolution.
