Labour Party support has remained steady in recent Maltese opinion polls ahead of the 30 May snap election, with the governing party under Prime Minister Robert Abela holding a consistent 8–11 point lead over the Nationalist Party. Recent surveys from Sagalytics and Esprimi place Labour at 51–53 percent among decided voters, reflecting continued incumbency advantages, economic messaging on deficit reduction and growth, and the presentation of a large candidate slate. The Nationalist Party, led by Alex Borg in his first general election, has narrowed gaps only modestly while facing challenges in converting undecided voters. Traders price the outcome at these levels because historical turnout patterns and the two-party structure in Malta’s single transferable vote system have rarely overturned such polling margins in the final weeks, though shifts in participation rates or late campaign developments could still narrow the projected vote difference.
