This market will resolve to "Yes" if OpenAI's next GPT Image model (2.1+) is made available to the general public between market creation and the specified date (ET). Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". A qualifying model must have a name or model identifier that includes "GPT Image" and be designated as version 2.1 or higher, regardless of capitalization, hyphenation, spacing, or surrounding prefixes, suffixes, dates, or descriptors. For example, a version 2.1 or higher named in the same manner as GPT Image 1.5 or GPT Image 2 would qualify, including a new whole-number generation such as GPT Image 3, while models whose name does not include "GPT Image" or which retain a version designation of 2 or below, such as GPT Image 2, GPT Image 2 mini, or DALL-E 3, will not qualify. Size, speed, or cost variants of any existing version, such as mini or turbo variants, and application or product version launches without a new qualifying underlying model, such as a "ChatGPT Images 3.0" product update, will not qualify. A qualifying model must be launched and publicly accessible, including via open beta or open rolling waitlist signups. A closed beta or any form of private access will not suffice. The release must either be clearly defined and publicly announced by OpenAI as accessible to the general public, or otherwise be made publicly accessible and explicitly labeled on the company's official website. Labeling errors, placeholder text, or version names displayed on the website that do not correspond to a model that is actually accessible to the general public will not qualify. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from OpenAI, with additional verification from a consensus of credible reporting.OpenAI's native multimodal image generation, evolved from DALL·E through gpt-image-1 and gpt-image-1.5 into the April 2026 launch of gpt-image-2, continues to set the pace for integrated text-to-image capabilities within its large language models. Recent deprecation notices for prior versions signal an active internal roadmap toward 2.1+, driven by architectural shifts to unified multimodal processing that improve prompt adherence, text rendering, and consistency over separate diffusion pipelines. Competitive pressure from Google Imagen variants, Midjourney updates, and Flux iterations accelerates development cycles, while historical nine-month gaps between major releases point to a potential late-2026 window. Traders should monitor OpenAI developer events, API changelog entries, and any GPT-5.x integrations for resolution signals on the next iteration.
