Recent forecasts from global models indicate a high near 19–20°C for Cape Town on September 10, aligning with the closely matched market-implied odds around those levels. Early September marks the spring transition in the region’s Mediterranean climate, where daily highs typically climb from winter averages near 17–18°C toward 20°C, moderated by the cold Benguela Current and frequent south-easterly winds. Variable cloud cover, sea-surface temperatures, and the strength of the South Atlantic High will determine whether daytime maxima reach the upper or lower end of the favored range, with limited scope for outliers given stable synoptic patterns. Updated model runs and local observations over the next 48 hours remain the key catalysts for any shift in trader positioning.
