Recent National Weather Service forecasts and supporting model guidance indicate mostly sunny conditions with light easterly winds and minimal cloud cover for Chicago on August 28, supporting a daily high near the historical average of 81°F. Official point forecasts cluster in the upper 70s to low 80s inland, tempered by lake moderation, while ensemble runs show limited spread and low precipitation chances. This positions the 82-83°F bin as the consensus outcome, with adjacent ranges reflecting typical forecast uncertainty and potential station-specific readings at O’Hare. Traders appear to weigh these verified model trends heavily, as resolution depends on the highest verified temperature reported by the National Weather Service.
