Recent National Weather Service and model guidance point to a high of 64–65°F for Chicago on September 21, driven by a cooler northeast flow behind Saturday’s system and widespread cloud cover that limits daytime heating. Persistent onshore winds of 15–20 mph with gusts to 25 mph, combined with a 30% chance of morning showers, are expected to cap afternoon temperatures in the mid-60s. This represents a notable cooldown from the mid-70s observed earlier in the weekend. Trader emphasis on the 62–65°F bins reflects tight model clustering around these values, with modest probabilities assigned to 66–67°F outcomes if skies clear earlier than forecast. Updated NWS briefings and hourly model runs over the next 48 hours will refine the precise maximum.
