**National Weather Service forecasts from September 17 position Atlanta’s September 19 high near 95°F under an upper-level ridge, with mostly sunny skies giving way to a 40% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.** This setup supports the market’s leading 92-93°F (43%) and 94-95°F (29.5%) bins, as daytime heating builds into the mid-90s before any convection develops and potentially caps the peak through cloud cover or evaporative cooling. Model consensus and recent runs show heat indices nearing 99–100°F during peak hours, consistent with unseasonably warm conditions running 10–12°F above the 82.5°F historical average. Thunderstorm timing after 2 p.m. introduces modest uncertainty—earlier or stronger activity could trim the high toward the lower 90s, while delayed or weaker storms would favor the upper 90s. Traders are weighting official NWS guidance and short-term model agreement heavily, with lower-probability tails (96°F+) reflecting the limited but real risk of minimal convective interference. Updated model runs and afternoon observations on the 18th will likely refine these odds ahead of resolution.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=katl
This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button.
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F.
This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
