Recent forecasts from multiple models indicate cloud cover and showers or thunderstorms will limit peak heating in Guangzhou on September 22, with consensus highs centered near 31–33 °C. Persistent moisture from a regional weather pattern, combined with reduced solar insolation under overcast skies, is the main driver suppressing temperatures relative to the prior hot spell of 34–36 °C. Historical September averages near 30–31 °C provide context, while model spread and timing of any afternoon clearing introduce uncertainty around the exact daily maximum. Traders appear to assign meaningful probability to 34–35 °C outcomes, reflecting residual warmth if rainfall is lighter or delayed, yet the market’s tight distribution across 31–35 °C underscores the sensitivity to the next official updates from Chinese meteorological agencies.
