This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 2 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Min (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.Official forecasts from the Hong Kong Observatory indicate a daily temperature range of 26–31°C for September 2 under the influence of Tropical Cyclone Sadel, which is enhancing northerly to northwesterly flow and promoting cloud cover with scattered showers. This setup favors modest nocturnal cooling compared to typical early-September conditions, where minima often hover near 26–27°C. Ensemble model guidance and hourly observations show overnight temperatures dipping to around 24–25°C in the early hours before sunrise, with variations arising from local wind patterns, humidity levels near 85–95%, and the precise timing of any showers. The near-even split in market-implied probabilities between 25°C and 26°C reflects this narrow uncertainty band in forecast minima, driven by differences across global models and the moderating effect of persistent cloudiness on radiative cooling. Updated HKO briefings and refined model runs expected overnight will provide the clearest signals ahead of resolution.
