This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 2 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.Recent forecasts from the Hong Kong Observatory indicate a maximum temperature range of 26–31°C for September 2, driven by Tropical Cyclone Saudel tracking across the northern South China Sea toward eastern Guangdong and the reinforcing northeast monsoon, which sustain northwesterly winds of force 4–5 (gusts to 6 offshore) and promote cloud cover with scattered showers and thunderstorms. These conditions limit daytime insolation and convective heating compared to clearer subtropical patterns, favoring peak readings near 29–30°C over higher values. Current surface observations near 27°C and model consensus on persistent moisture support the market-implied concentration around 28–30°C, though brief afternoon sunshine could allow brief spikes toward 31°C if showers remain localized. Updated HKO guidance and regional model runs will refine steering and intensity ahead of the daily maximum.
