Current forecasts from NWS and private models show the September 16 minimum temperature in New York City likely falling between 61–64°F under partly cloudy skies, light southwesterly winds, and moderate humidity. Clear conditions overnight promote radiational cooling, while the urban heat island and southerly flow from the Atlantic limit how far temperatures drop. Model consensus places the low near 62°F, with slight differences in cloud timing or boundary-layer mixing separating the closely matched 62–63°F and 64–65°F market outcomes. Official readings from Central Park and area airports will set the exact value once the full diurnal cycle completes.
