Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance points to a mid-90s high for Houston on September 15 under persistent southeast flow and elevated humidity, with heat indices exceeding 105°F. This aligns with the market’s heaviest weighting on the 92–95°F bins, well above the 1991–2020 climatological average of 89.4°F. Limited afternoon convection and dry antecedent conditions are expected to prevent significant cooling, while ensemble spreads remain modest and centered near 94°F. Updated NWS point forecasts and morning model runs over the next 48 hours will provide the next key data points for traders assessing any late adjustments to the temperature profile.
