This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed city records measurable precipitation on August 9. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Measurable precipitation means 0.01 inches or more as reported by the Weather Underground station page for the city. A report of trace ("T") does not qualify. Resolution is based on the station's first published precipitation figure for the day. Subsequent revisions or corrections to the published data will not be considered; the first published value is final. If no figure has been published by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to "No".A frontal boundary is driving scattered showers and thunderstorms across much of the central and eastern United States through the weekend, while high pressure maintains hot, mostly dry conditions from the Intermountain West into the central Plains. NOAA's 6–10 day outlook for August 9–13 indicates near- to above-normal rainfall probabilities over most of the contiguous U.S., with the highest chances tied to this frontal activity, contrasted by drier-than-normal conditions from eastern Texas into the lower Mississippi Valley. Short-range models show 20–40% precipitation probabilities in the Midwest and Northeast on the 9th, with lower odds farther west; these can shift with overnight model runs from the National Weather Service. Traders should monitor updated NWS local forecasts and quantitative precipitation outlooks for resolution thresholds.
