Argentina’s official USD/ARS exchange rate, currently near 1,508–1,530 as of early September 2026, trades within a widening inflation-indexed crawling band that has supported reserve accumulation exceeding IMF targets and kept the blue-dollar gap below 1%. Trader consensus in the leading <1,600 and 1,600–1,699 brackets reflects sustained fiscal surpluses, BCRA daily FX purchases, and monthly inflation readings near 2% that point to end-2026 inflation around 25–30%. Market pricing embeds a modest 1.7% monthly crawl through December, consistent with analyst surveys expecting the rate near 1,610. Recent stability in Treasury yields and reduced devaluation risk premia reinforce the view that abrupt jumps remain unlikely absent external shocks.
