Official observations from the National Weather Service confirm a minimum temperature of 70–71°F in Atlanta on September 9, 2026, aligning with the market’s 95.5% implied probability for that bin. Clear skies, light easterly winds, and above-average dew points under a strong high-pressure ridge limited radiational cooling overnight, keeping lows near the seasonal normal of 67–68°F rather than allowing deeper drops. Model consensus and post-event verification ruled out cooler thresholds below 68°F, while warmer outcomes lacked supporting data from the primary Atlanta station. Resolution hinges on the official climatological summary, with only minor revisions possible from final quality control.
