Preseason roster adjustments, including depth additions and contract resolutions, alongside goaltending tandems and special-teams efficiency, will shape early standings and first-round seeding. Matchups often hinge on home-ice advantage, recent form, and injury reports once the 84-game schedule begins September 29. Contenders like Vegas Golden Knights and Edmonton Oilers face pressure to secure favorable paths, while emerging teams in the Central and Pacific divisions could create competitive first-round series driven by regular-season momentum and key player availability.
