Early in the 2026 awards cycle, the Oscars 2027 Best Original Screenplay market shows a wide-open field driven by early festival buzz and initial reviews rather than locked-in momentum. Wild Horse Nine leads with a 40.5% implied probability, followed by The Debut at 29.4%, while Obsession, Fjord, and Digger sit in the single digits amid a long list of lower-odds titles. This closely contested setup highlights how historical patterns favor films with strong guild and critics’ circle support that often emerge later, with fall premieres, year-end lists, and precursor nominations poised to shift trader consensus before ballots open.
