Recent results highlight strong form from Hans Niemann, who claimed the September 1 title with 10/11 after a dramatic final-round win over Jan-Krzysztof Duda, while Duda, Alexey Sarana, Wesley So, and Vincent Keymer also reached the podium. Frequent contenders such as Arjun Erigaisi, Alireza Firouzja, Magnus Carlsen, and Hikaru Nakamura have multiple wins or near-misses this year, with tiebreaks often deciding close finishes among players on 9–10 points.
