This market will resolve according to the next UFC fighter that Magomed Ankalaev is officially announced to face in a UFC bout. Resolution for this market will be based on the next UFC fighter that Magomed Ankalaev is officially announced to fight, regardless of whether the fight ends up taking place. Only official announcements from the UFC, which include a scheduled date for the bout, will count. Announcements with no date or which do not confirm that the fight is official, speculation, or other unofficial announcements will not count. If Magomed Ankalaev is officially announced to fight any non-listed fighter or no qualifying announcement is made by July 25, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the UFC. **Magomed Ankalaev’s next opponent remains unsettled more than seven weeks after his fifth-round TKO of Bogdan Guskov in Abu Dhabi on July 25, 2026.** The former light heavyweight champion sits at No. 2 in the division and has publicly called for a bout with No. 4-ranked Paulo Costa, citing stylistic interest and frustration over multiple prior declines by the Brazilian. Champion Carlos Ulberg, who captured the belt via head-kick KO of Jiri Prochazka at UFC 327, is sidelined with an ACL injury, leaving an interim title fight or high-stakes contender bout as the likeliest path forward. This creates a crowded field of plausible matchups. Traders see a tight race among several ranked light heavyweights because Ankalaev has repeatedly stated he will fight anyone, while the UFC has not locked in a date or opponent. Prochazka, recent title challenger Khalil Rountree Jr., and other top-10 names remain in play depending on recovery timelines, promotional priorities, and Ulberg’s return. The bunched probabilities reflect this genuine uncertainty rather than any single dominant narrative.
