This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the nomination for the Republican Party to contest the GA-09 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The Republican primary will take place on May 19, 2026. If no nominee is announced by November 3, 2026, 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Republican sources, including https://rnc.org/. Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market.Andrew Clyde’s status as the incumbent U.S. representative anchors the current trader consensus in Georgia’s 9th congressional district Republican primary. In a safely Republican seat, incumbents routinely benefit from name recognition, established donor networks, and constituent services that challengers struggle to overcome before primary day. Sam Couvillon, the former Gainesville mayor, and Gregg Poole, a Hall County commissioner, have drawn local attention through candidate forums and early fundraising, yet neither has shifted the race into a dead heat. Early voting is underway ahead of the May 19 contest, and any outcome short of a majority would trigger a June 16 runoff; however, the market’s heavy weighting toward Clyde reflects the structural edge historically enjoyed by sitting members in low-turnout primaries.
