Recent forecasts from the Russian Hydrometeorological Center and European models show Moscow under northwest flow behind a cold front, with daytime highs on September 7 projected at 12–14 °C amid moderate rain and winds of 7–12 m/s. This represents a sharp drop from the 20–22 °C readings recorded earlier in the week. Historical climatology places the September 7 average high near 18 °C, but the current pattern—persistent cloud cover, elevated pressure gradients, and northerly advection—has suppressed temperatures well below seasonal norms. Updated model runs through the weekend will determine whether any brief clearing allows modest recovery or reinforces the cooler regime ahead of market resolution.
