Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Austin on September 4 points to a warm, humid night with southerly winds and possible clouds or scattered showers, limiting radiative cooling and supporting overnight lows in the mid-70s. Persistent late-summer heat and elevated dew points have kept minimum temperatures well above the long-term September average of roughly 71°F in recent days, elevating the chance of a minimum at or above 76–79°F. At the same time, any clearer breaks or heavier rain could allow more cooling toward the lower 70s or upper 60s, creating the observed spread across trader-implied probabilities for the various temperature bins. Updated NWS forecast discussions and model runs through the evening of September 3 will be the next key inputs before the daily minimum is recorded.
