Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered. An incoming early-September Pacific storm system is the dominant driver suppressing Seattle's September 2 high temperature, with National Weather Service and private-model consensus pointing to widespread cloud cover, periods of rain, and south winds limiting daytime heating. This setup favors a daily maximum in the mid- to upper 60s—well below the 1991–2020 climatological average of 73.9 °F—while reducing the likelihood of readings near or above 70 °F. Recent model runs and updated zone forecasts issued September 1 reinforce this cooler, breezy regime, aligning with the market's heaviest weighting on the 64–69 °F bins. Traders are effectively pricing the high probability of marine-layer influence and reduced insolation rather than any return to late-summer warmth.
