Strong September insolation, downslope warming east of the Front Range, and modest warm-air advection support temperatures several degrees above the 84 °F climatological average, while minor differences in afternoon cloud timing or boundary-layer mixing create the narrow spread between those two outcomes. Traders are weighting recent model runs showing peak readings near 91 °F against the historical precedent of occasional 90-plus readings this early in the month.
