Silver's sharp August rally above $70, fueled by U.S. fiscal deficit concerns, expanded Treasury buybacks pressuring yields lower, a weaker dollar, and robust industrial demand amid supply disruptions in key producers like Mexico and Peru, sets the stage for the week of August 31. The pullback to around $67 after Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's hawkish Jackson Hole remarks—highlighting persistent 3.7% July core PCE inflation and raising September rate-hike odds—now dominates trader focus, as higher rates bolster the dollar and elevate opportunity costs for non-yielding metals. With silver also tracking gold's safe-haven flows and facing resistance near the 200-day moving average around $72, upcoming economic releases and any FOMC signals will likely drive volatility and shape near-term price thresholds.
