Israel's naval forces have repeatedly intercepted Gaza-bound aid vessels in international waters, as seen in the Global Sumud Flotilla's April 2026 mission near Crete where 22 boats were seized and activists detained. New vessels launched from Turkey on May 14 continue the effort to challenge the maritime blockade, yet historical patterns show Israel halting such flotillas well before they approach territorial limits. With the May 31 deadline approaching, this enforcement record shapes trader consensus that entry into Israeli waters remains unlikely, reflecting the operational realities of naval interdiction over activist sailing plans.
