National Weather Service forecasts for Atlanta on September 18 indicate a sunny day with highs near 96°F under a strong mid-level ridge and northeasterly flow, supporting the market's leading 94-95°F and 96-97°F bins. Model consensus points to peak temperatures in the mid-90s before any afternoon convection develops, consistent with the recent warming trend that produced 93°F on September 17 and 90°F the prior day. Above-normal heat indices near 99°F reflect the combination of temperatures and humidity, though scattered thunderstorms could cap the daily maximum if they initiate earlier than expected. Historical September averages near 83°F underscore the anomalous conditions driven by subsidence and limited cloud cover. Updated NWS guidance and any model shifts on steering patterns will refine these probabilities ahead of resolution.
