Current National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble guidance indicate an overnight minimum for San Francisco on September 8 in the upper 50s to low 60s °F, driven by a persistent marine layer and light onshore flow that limits radiational cooling. Recent observations show daily lows near or slightly above the 1991–2020 normal of 56 °F, with September 6 recording 59 °F at the airport. Model consensus supports the tight clustering of market-implied odds between the 58–59 °F and 60–61 °F bins, while higher or lower outcomes hinge on small shifts in cloud cover, dew-point depression, or wind speed overnight. Updated NWS briefings and the next model runs will refine resolution thresholds ahead of the midnight-to-midnight period used for market settlement.
