Recent cooling in UK CPI to 2.6% year-over-year in June 2026, driven by lower transport and food prices, underpins the leading 2.5–2.9% outcome bin, though the Bank of England’s 3.75% Bank Rate and forward guidance highlight persistent upside risks from Middle East energy price volatility. Official forecasts, including revised Treasury projections for 3.4% in Q4 2026, reflect these pressures alongside moderating core inflation at 2.6%. Market-implied odds remain dispersed because the full-year average hinges on whether geopolitical shocks amplify second-round effects or whether labor market slack and prior monetary tightening contain the rebound, with the September MPC meeting and upcoming energy data as key near-term catalysts.
