Incumbent Michelle Romero and challenger Hollie Chadwick advanced from the June 9, 2026 nonpartisan primary to the November 3 general election runoff after Romero fell just short of an outright majority with roughly 50% of the vote. Chadwick, the former Henderson police chief dismissed in 2025, captured about 23% in the primary despite being outspent, while other candidates split the remainder and failed to advance. This close primary outcome has kept trader consensus tight between the two, reflecting uncertainty over how voter coalitions from the fragmented field will consolidate. Key dynamics include Romero's record on city redevelopment and incumbency advantages against Chadwick's appeal on public safety and change. The November ballot will determine the winner, with any late endorsements, turnout shifts among Henderson's key wards, or campaign focus on local issues like growth and policing likely to influence final margins.
