Persistent high pressure centered north of Atlanta is driving mostly sunny skies, light southeast winds, and warm advection, supporting National Weather Service forecasts of a 96°F high on September 3 with heat indices near 101°F. Model consensus across short-range guidance shows little change in the 95–97°F range through the period, consistent with late-summer climatology where daily highs average 86°F but recent conditions have run 8–10°F above normal. Traders have placed the strongest implied probability on 96–97°F (49.5%), reflecting the narrow spread in official guidance and low chance of cloud cover or precipitation that could cap temperatures. Updated model runs and afternoon observations on September 2 will provide the next key signals before resolution.
