Short-term numerical weather prediction models from agencies like the China Meteorological Administration drive the dispersed market odds, with 28°C leading at 30% amid substantial forecast spread for Guangzhou’s September 4 maximum. Subtropical monsoon influences, variable cloud cover, potential South China Sea moisture advection, and steering patterns from distant tropical systems create the observed uncertainty across outcomes from 23°C or below to 33°C or higher. Ensemble runs show modest agreement near 27–29°C under typical early-September climatology, yet small shifts in precipitation timing or wind could push readings higher or lower. Updated model cycles and official guidance over the next 48 hours will likely refine trader consensus as land-based observations approach.
