National Weather Service forecasts for Houston on September 22 project a sunny day with highs near 95–96°F under high pressure and light northeast winds, supporting the market’s leading 94–95°F (55%) and 96–97°F (36%) implied probabilities. Persistent late-summer subsidence, minimal cloud cover, and strong solar heating typical of the region’s climatology favor this range, while humidity keeps heat indices above 100°F. Recent model runs show little change from prior days’ mid- to upper-90s readings, with no incoming fronts or significant moisture to alter the thermal profile before evening. Traders appear to weigh the narrow spread between official guidance and potential micro-climate variations or measurement timing at key stations.
