Forecast models from the National Weather Service and GFS consensus point to a daily maximum in Miami on September 21 in the upper 80s, driven by southerly flow, high humidity, and afternoon scattered thunderstorms that promote cloud cover and limit solar heating. This aligns with climatological September averages near 86–88°F while explaining trader emphasis on the 86–89°F ranges. Afternoon convection and potential for heavier rain could suppress peaks below 90°F, though breaks of sun might allow brief pushes toward 90–91°F. Official observations from Miami International Airport will determine resolution, with model updates on steering patterns and instability remaining key variables ahead of the 24-hour period.
