Recent forecast consensus from models such as GFS and ECMWF points to a high of 31–32°C in Beijing on September 23 under mostly sunny skies and light southerly winds, aligning with the market’s tight clustering around those outcomes. Clear conditions and moderate humidity should allow strong daytime solar heating, while subtle differences in cloud cover timing or boundary-layer mixing explain the spread between 30°C and 33°C. Historical September 23 averages near 25°C underscore the current warmth, but late-summer variability and potential for scattered afternoon convection introduce modest downside risk. Updated model runs and official China Meteorological Administration guidance ahead of the date will likely refine these probabilities.
