Recent extreme heat in Karachi, with a 40.7°C reading on September 21 that set a nine-year September record at Pakistan Meteorological Department stations, has elevated trader focus on whether conditions sustain or moderate on the 22nd. Weakened southwesterly sea breezes from altered Arabian Sea circulation patterns drove the prior spike, while official PMD guidance points to a maximum near 38°C on the 22nd amid gradually strengthening westerly winds and persistent high humidity. Model outputs and station variability introduce uncertainty between 37–39°C thresholds, with no rainfall expected and historical September averages near 31–32°C providing context for the elevated baseline. Updated agency briefings and afternoon observations will refine resolution odds.
