Recent Met Office and GFS model guidance for London on September 19 points to a mild southwesterly flow under variable cloud, supporting a daytime maximum of 21–23 °C with only limited sunshine and a slight chance of light showers or drizzle in the afternoon. These conditions align with the market’s heavy weighting toward 22 °C (54 %) and 21 °C (25 %), as the models show modest diurnal warming tempered by increasing cloud cover and moderate winds that prevent stronger heating. Historical mid-September averages near 18–20 °C provide context for the current warmer anomaly, while resolution hinges on the precise timing of any shower activity and the highest hourly reading recorded at official stations. Updated model runs and Met Office briefings through the evening of the 18th remain the key near-term catalysts for shifts in implied probabilities.
