Official forecasts from the National Weather Service place Miami’s high temperature near 88–89°F on September 18, with scattered to numerous afternoon thunderstorms expected amid easterly flow and high humidity. These storms, driven by typical late-summer tropical moisture, often develop by midday and can limit peak heating through cloud cover and evaporative cooling, supporting the market’s heaviest weighting on the 88–89°F bin. Historical climatology shows an average high of 89°F for the date, yet recent model runs have held steady without significant warming signals, keeping 90–91°F as a plausible but lower-probability outcome if convection remains suppressed. Heat-index values near 100°F reflect the dominant moisture influence rather than extreme dry-bulb readings.
