Recent short-term forecasts under prevailing southwest monsoon conditions point to maximum temperatures of 31–34°C on September 17, with afternoon thundery showers likely to limit peak heating through increased cloud cover and localized convection. Official guidance from the Meteorological Service Singapore highlights a baseline range of 33–35°C amid ongoing dry conditions, though transboundary haze from regional fires may modestly reduce insolation and cap extremes. Model consensus across sources shows highs clustering near 32–33°C, aligning with the market's heavy weighting toward those outcomes as traders incorporate expected convective suppression and historical September variability around 30–34°C. New NEA updates and refined model runs ahead of the date remain the key near-term catalysts.
