Official National Weather Service forecasts for San Francisco on September 17 point to a mild high near 70–72°F under partly cloudy skies, with morning marine layer clouds possibly giving way to afternoon clearing and light southwesterly winds. This aligns with climatological norms for mid-September, when average highs hover around 70.7°F, though recent model runs show minor spread tied to the precise timing of onshore flow and any residual moisture. Trader consensus favoring the 70–71°F bin over 72–73°F reflects uncertainty in whether full sun and slight warming will push the daily maximum across the threshold, with resolution hinging on verified observations at official stations.
