Recent National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble model runs point to overnight lows in the mid-60s for New York City on September 6, driven by northeast flow under partly cloudy to clearing skies behind a weak frontal passage. This setup aligns with climatological norms for early September, where the 1991–2020 average low sits near 64.5 °F, and supports the market’s heaviest positioning on 66–67 °F followed by 64–65 °F. Limited moisture and modest winds should prevent significant radiative cooling or warming, keeping the lowest temperature within a narrow range. Updated model guidance and official NHC/NOAA briefings through the evening of September 5 remain the key near-term catalysts that could refine these implied probabilities.
