Giorgia Meloni holds the leading position in trader consensus for Italy's next prime minister at 51.5 percent, reflecting her status as the incumbent heading a center-right coalition that has maintained parliamentary stability since 2022. Opposition figures such as Elly Schlein of the Democratic Party and Giuseppe Conte of the Five Star Movement trail at 14 percent and 12.5 percent respectively, consistent with current polling trends and the fragmented nature of left-leaning alliances ahead of the scheduled 2027 general election. Factors supporting Meloni's edge include her government's handling of fiscal policy, migration controls, and EU budget negotiations, while lower probabilities for alternatives like Silvia Salis and Roberto Vannacci highlight limited momentum for challengers in recent regional votes and party positioning.
