Recent polls for Berlin’s September 20, 2026, state election show the AfD consistently ahead of the SPD, with the former at 18–20% and the latter at 12–15% across surveys from INSA, Infratest dimap, and Civey in July–August. This gap reflects the AfD’s broader national surge amid low approval for the CDU-SPD federal coalition and voter shifts on migration and economic issues. The SPD has continued to lose ground following weak federal results and limited recovery in the capital, while the AfD benefits from stronger eastern-state momentum and higher mobilization. These trends underpin trader consensus that the AfD is likely to finish ahead of the SPD in vote share.
