Recent regulatory actions in Brazil have intensified scrutiny of Discord over child safety failures under the 2026 Digital ECA statute. Following an August 12 ANPD order suspending the platform’s Go Live livestreaming feature after a 13-year-old’s suicide linked to harmful content, the Attorney General’s Office signaled plans on August 6 to seek a full court-ordered block, citing inadequate age verification, real-time moderation, and risks to minors—echoing prior platform restrictions. Discord has rolled out age assurance tools and pledged safety improvements while reviewing the measures. Traders are weighing the likelihood of judicial escalation versus compliance or appeals that could avert a complete ban. Key near-term catalysts include court filings, ANPD enforcement updates, and any platform responses that demonstrate effective safeguards.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if use of Discord is banned within Brazil through a nationwide, legally effective government or court order and such ban is publicly confirmed between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".
A legally-effective nationwide court order requiring either the temporary suspension of Discord’s activities in Brazil or a prohibition on Discord operating in Brazil will qualify as a ban for the purposes of this market, regardless of whether technical implementation of the order has been completed.
An order that is stayed, suspended, or overturned before taking legal effect will not qualify. If a qualifying order takes legal effect, a subsequent stay, suspension, or reversal will not affect the market's resolution.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Brazilian government, courts and Discord, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
