This market will resolve to "Yes" if Anthropic's next Claude Sonnet model is made available to the general public by the specified date (ET). Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No." Claude Sonnet refers to a model by Anthropic explicitly named Sonnet. Qualifying models include Claude Sonnet 5.1, Claude Sonnet 5.5, Sonnet 6, or any other Sonnet variants. Models under any other name, such as Opus, Haiku, Fable, or Mythos, will not qualify, unless the model is explicitly and officially named Sonnet by Anthropic. A qualifying model must be launched and publicly accessible, including via open beta or open rolling waitlist signups. A closed beta or any form of private access will not suffice. The release must be either clearly defined and publicly announced by Anthropic as being accessible to the general public or otherwise made publicly accessible and explicitly labeled within the company’s official website. Labeling errors, placeholder text, or version names displayed on the website that do not correspond to a model that is actually accessible to the general public will not qualify. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from Anthropic, with additional verification from a consensus of credible reporting.**Claude Sonnet 5 launched on June 30, 2026, as Anthropic’s most agentic mid-tier model yet, emphasizing coding, tool use, and everyday agent workflows at Sonnet speed and price.** It arrived with introductory API pricing of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens through August 31, then rising to $3/$15, and is now the default in Claude Code and the platform. This follows the established 2025–2026 cadence of frequent Sonnet iterations (4.5 in September 2025, 4.6 in February 2026), driven by competitive pressure from OpenAI’s GPT line and the need to deliver frontier-level performance without Opus costs. Traders see Anthropic’s pattern of shipping major updates every few months—often 1–4 weeks after corresponding Opus releases—as the core signal, alongside deprecations of older 4.x models in June 2026 that accelerated migration to newer variants. Key upcoming catalysts include any official hints on Sonnet 6 timelines, developer conferences, or benchmark results that could shift perceived release pressure. The market reflects real-money consensus on Anthropic’s execution speed amid a fast-moving AI landscape where product timelines and competitive positioning can shift quickly on new announcements.
