Gold trades near $4,080–$4,100 per ounce as of late June 2026, down roughly 25% from its January all-time high above $5,580 amid a stronger U.S. dollar and elevated real yields. The June 17 FOMC decision to hold the federal funds rate at 3.50–3.75% and updated dot plot signaling no 2026 cuts reinforced the higher-for-longer stance, pressuring gold while ETF inflows remain subdued. Structural demand from central banks continues to provide a floor, though near-term price action hinges on upcoming releases including June 30 consumer confidence and JOLTS data that could shift rate expectations. With the week of June 29 marking month-end, traders are monitoring technical support near $4,000–$4,100 and any last-minute positioning ahead of the July FOMC.
