Latest National Weather Service and regional forecasts project a high near 92–94°F for Chicago on September 2 under mostly sunny skies, driven by persistent southwest flow advecting warm, humid air masses amid a late-season heat pattern well above the 80°F climatological average. Heat indices near 100°F reflect elevated dew points, while model consensus and recent observations from O’Hare support peak readings in the low-to-mid 90s rather than extremes. This positions the market-implied 49.5% probability on 94–95°F and 32.5% on 92–93°F as reflecting the narrow but plausible range between official guidance and local heating potential, with limited upside beyond 96°F given stable steering patterns.
